A political action committee (PAC) is an organization that pools campaign contributions from members and donates those funds to campaigns for or against candidates, ballot initiatives, or legislation. PACs are typically formed to represent business, labor, or ideological interests by individuals who wish to privately raise money to donate to a political campaign. One existing example of a political PAC is the National Association of Realtors PAC. It is consistently the largest contributor to political candidates at the federal level and spent nearly $4 million on the 2014 election.
